  First things first, the office staff are amazing. They make booking and reminding you of your dates and what you'll need to bring on the day of your test!!!
  I can honestly say that I haven't had a bad instructor yet, and I have done HR licence, my HC licence and have also done my motorcycle L's twice with them (as I ran the time out before ha ing to go do my P's test ride and licence ride.
  
  The other day tho I booked in my ride test assignment and had the most fun I've had in a while, both instructor's where very knowledgeable, patient, kind, understanding and all well doing their job. Still a few improvements can be made and the instructor's told all of us under theire instructor's things they can practice more to make ourselves smarter and safer riders.
  
  I highly recommend Armstrong's to each and every person who wants to do any type of licensing as it's a pleasure everytime.
  Can't wait to get back out on the bikes with them for my actual motorcycle licence test.

  The experience was fantastic. My trainer Jason was such an excellent trainer with so much experiences. He was very patient and also had a very good observation. After completing the course, I felt so confidence riding in the road. Jason experiences and teaching made it so easy. Thank you Jason and Armstrong for making this course such a wonderful experiences.

  Had my first experience learning how to ride a motorcycle, everything was great! And took my learners permit. The instructor made everything easy and I would definitely recommend this school. Thank you AED.

  Hi,
  I did my HR truck driving course/licence with Armstrong last week at Thomastown branch.
  I was nervous but my trainer and other staff was so nice to me that it boost my confidence.
  During the course my trainer Aaron was really professional at the same time understanding and explained me all safety precautions. By second day I was driving very confidently.

  Stuart was outstanding with his knowledge and how to engage with people who have never ridden in their life. He was patient and knowledgeable throughout the two days and answered any questions. I will definitely come back to do my Check ride and License in the near future well done Armstrong Thomas town.

  I went for my motorbike learners permit this past weekend. We had different trainers for each day due to staff shortages and i have to say it was a wonderful experience gaining knowledge from 2 different people.
  
  On Saturday, we had Stuart as our trainer and he was wonderful. I was extremely nervous and was struggling to not stall the bike. He took the time to encourage me and gave me a little one on one time and was supportive as I really was worried about failing.
  
  On Sunday, Jason was our trainer and he too was a great trainer. He too took the time to explain some of the things that I was struggling to understand. Once I got the hang of not using the handlebars to steer, I really enjoyed myself and relaxed. I even past the test!!!
  
  Thank you so much to Stuart and Jason for believing in me and encouraging me.
  
  I cannot recommend Armstrong Thomastown enough if you are wanting to sit your motorbike learners permit.
  
  Looking forward to doing my check ride as soon as possible.

  Can not recommend place highly enough. Great team overall, ALWAYS helpful with any request from customers. Great knowledge and very happy with the way they transfer knowledge to students (motorcycle rider).

About Armstrong's Driver Education

Who We Are

Armstrongs has developed and delivered training and assessment for the Transport and Logistics industry for over 50 years. Armstrongs is a Registered Training Office (RTO) and a VicRoads accredited heavy vehicle and motorcycle training and assessment centre working under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). Armstrongs is also WorkSafe accredited to deliver forklift licence training and testing.

What Makes Us Different

Armstrongs believes that its students should have access to a training environment and facilities that promote and support their training experience. Armstrongs training services are conducted at a purpose built training facility in Thomastown, Victoria. The Armstrongs facility is situated on 10,000 square meters, and includes a purpose built heavy vehicle reversing area catering for all classes of heavy vehicle; an in-situ designated heavy vehicle solely for the purposes of conducting off-road skills (such as cabin drill); and a designated forklift training area. Armstrongs training vehicles are also specifically selected to meet current skills demands and reflect industry standards. Armstrongs is also home to the only purpose built twin motor cycle range in Victoria.

Armstrongs' licencing courses are designed to provide students with skills and knowledge that exceed the minimum standards required to obtain a heavy vehicle licence. In addition, Armstrongs' licencing courses are designed to provide the student with as much practical experience as possible in order to further develop and consolidate their skills.

How We Support Industry

Armstrongs regularly conducts research and industry consultation into the required skills of a driver and how these competencies can be achieved. Armstrongs training services come with the added value of our reputation and standing. Students also get the benefit of the extensive and varied experience of our trainers. Students who undertake training at Armstrongs can be confident that they will achieve a high standard of skills and knowledge.

Our Assets

Armstrongs fleet of industry standard vehicles means that students have an array of vehicles and gearbox transmissions to select from. This enables students to learn in vehicles that will best reflect the vehicles that they will operate when working in the industry.

All vehicles have been specially modified for training purposes and are fitted with a dual braking system and on-board camera.

Our Staff

Armstrongs trainers are VicRoads and/or WorkSafe accredited and hold the required qualifications for the training they conduct. Armstrongs trainers have industry experience relevant to the qualification they train.
